Spoonful of Honey was created after nearly a decade of research, education and love for this craft. My mission is to provide high quality, delicious baked goods and catering services in an artful presentation.

I have been cooking professionally for over ten years, beginning in Chicago in 2006. While in Chicago, I earned a degree in pastry and baking from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. While in Chicago, I worked under Efrain Cuevas as the pastry chef for Clandestino Dining, an upscale underground supper club. During the same time, I also worked as a chef instructor for C-CAP (The Careers Through Culinary Arts Program).

In relocating to Atlanta, I began Spoonful of Honey Pastries, participating in local farmers markets and providing local breakfast pastry delivery to my community, which lacked access to wholesome food. There, I also volunteered teaching healthy eating lessons to children at the local Salvation Army, and began a community garden, with open access for anyone who needed fresh food.

Being a Southern California native, I have reclaimed my roots and am back to the Los Angeles area, where I've resumed my work and passion. I've also re-connected with C-CAP.. The Careers Through Culinary Arts Program is a national non-profit that transforms the lives of disadvantaged youth through the culinary arts and prepares them for college and careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Over the past 26 years, they've provided over $50 million in scholarships for undergraduate studies. To learn more about C-CAP and ways you can help, please visit www.ccapinc.org.
